Retreat Day: “St. Kateri Tekakwitha”

  • Villa St Joseph 445 Monk Street Cobourg, ON, K9A 2S9 Canada (map)

Kateri Tekakwitha, known as the Lily of the Mohawks, is North America’s first Indigenous Saint. This Retreat Day will trace her beginnings from a village ravaged by a smallpox epidemic, leaving her orphaned at 4 years old. She endured many sufferings and felt called to be baptized a Christian by the Jesuits. There have been many healings attributed to her. Yet, she was also a child of nature, always seeking God in creation. The church has named her a patron saint of ecology.

Facilitated by Sr. Linda Gregg csj.

Cost is $40.00 includes lunch and snacks.
